Paper Bag Album Kit and yes… more flowers!

My album kits are finally finished – paper and supplies are organized, cut, and bagged!

Something I will post is a picture of the flowers I learned to make. Have I mentioned how much I love love love flowers?? Anywho, I’ve spent about 50% of my vacation watching youtube, and have learned lots of new things. I’ve spent the other 50% of the time trying to figure out how to recreate them without having to buy anything new! Here are the new flowers I’ve made. I am going to hopefully teach them at the February crop (still need the final okay from the boss).

I know I always say this, but these are my favorite ones so far =)

Hope everyone has a fabulous new year!

Glimmer Tags…

are not a “technique”, rather something I’ve been making the past few days. I don’t know why, but I love making tags! I think because I can just play and don’t feel pressured to create an entire layout or book. I have been obsessed with using Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Glaze lately, so I used them for this. The tags started out white or manilla and were colored with the glazes and some were colored with distress inks in addition to the glam.

The pinks/purples are my favorite of course

Besides playing this vacation I have actually done some work…

I made it official and got my resale license, Tax number, and opened a business checking and savings account. I’m am now the sole proprietor of Jackie’s Crafting  =) I’ve been teaching classes lately and have classes and kits lined up for the future. If I am going to seriously do this (which I plan to) I want to get items at wholesale so I can give more bang for the buck when I do classes or kits. I’m excited about this new adventure.

This also means I should start giving away blog candy to draw attention to my site. You all will be the first to know when I start 😉 Thank you for all the wonderful comments you leave me on here, on facebook, and by email. I truly appreciate everyone who takes the time to read my babbling.

I have been on vacation since last Friday and have been very productive! I have been working on a lot of projects that I can’t put on here yet (as they’re presents for various people) but one thing I can post is the 6×6 paper bag album I am making for Barbara’s January 29th crop. Its sort of vintagy and girly. I used mainly pinks, browns, and cream colors for the entire album. There are 12 pages total, including front and back. I am still working out what the kit will cost, but it will be between 20-25. I have to sit down and figure out how much each album actually cost to put together… I kept adding things! The kit will come with two package of gorgeous pearls  prima flowers, chipboard, lace, ribbon, buttons, and some gorgeous design paper. Everything is already precut so all you have to do is ink and assemble! All materials used were AF/LF.  Anyway, enough blabbing…here’s a look at the cover.

I loved putting it together  =) I’ll post pics of other projects after the holidays.

Have a Merry Chrismas!

More Flowers

I’ve been obsessed with flowers lately. Not buying them, making them! I have tried several different kinds and think I’ve found my favorite so far:

They’re actually pretty simple to assemble once you get the steps down. I cut the flower parts out using my cricut and SCAL program and then go to work getting them different colors. I have been having a lot of fun experimenting with different inks, mists, and powders to get them perfect.

Here’s a layout I made using the flowers:

I really wanted to get started putting together the paper bag album kit for the next crop, but I am still waiting on my orders.  Hence, my layout. I had to work on something since I have a nice weekend to myself.

It has been a busy, and I mean BUSY, past couple of weeks! I have been preparing for my classes, scrapbooking and regular  =) I taught my tear bear and card classes today. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot! As for my regular class, I only have two weeks left until winter break. Because it’s been soooo long since I’ve posted, I am going to post pics of recent projects, and work on posting weekly from now on…maybe…

Thanks to the few of you who are reading this =)
