More Birthday Cards!

I’ve made two more birthday cards (I LOVE making birthday cards…) for a couple different challenges. The first card shown below is for Kenny K’s Krafty Girls challenge #6 Bold and Bright! I know I have already used this image, but I just love it.

The second card shown below was made for the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog. It’s another birthday card using a very cute Tilda image from the fairytale collection. It, too, is bold and bright, but was made for Diana’s birthday celebration =) Check out their blog-hop…awesome birthday prizes to be won. (I am still working on my altered item and will post pics asap)

Images colored with copics, of course. Papers are PTI, Rusted Sun, and Little Sprout. Flowers are Primas. Buttons are PTI. Glitter brads are from Close to my Heart.

It’s your day

Summer is coming to an end which means the end of daily scrapbook time. Once the year starts I just know I won’t have much time to do any kind of scrapbooking for myself. I really really hope that I can find at least an hour a day to work on cards or coloring with copics or something other than school work. Scrapbooking and cardmaking really just helps me relax and stop taking everything so seriously.

So I’ve decided to scrapbook as muh as possible this week since it’s my last week of staying up late. Last night I colored two images and today I created two girly  birthday cards. I had some really pretty princessy paper leftover from the Kenny K challenge card I made over the weekend.

Anyway…the cards below are both made with Adorn It papers. Both have stamped images colored with copics (one from AllThatScraps.com and the other is a Gorjuss Girls stamp). The ribbon and buttons are both from papertrey ink (LOVE Papertrey ink!). They will both be posted on my Etsy.

My goal is to post at least twice a week once school starts. We’ll see =)

You’re A Star

I loved the Kenny K images so much, I just had to try out another one. I made this card with the same sentiment as the last card because it just fits the images so well! I actually made this one for my father-in-law. He is an amazing guitarist and has a show tonight. I decided to make the card for him just for fun.

I used copics to color in the super cute image, Star, from Kenny K. I used a black and white DP from teresa Collins, Cardstock from PTI, and Navy Swiss Dot Bazzil.

Kenny K’s Krafty Girlz Challenge #4

As soon as I saw these stamps from Kenny K, I knew I was going to have to use them soon! I absolutely love the rocker chick images. They’re soooo fun to color and really got me excited about making this card (which is why I had to stay up until past 2am to finish it…). I was inspired to make this card for Kenny K’s 4th challenge.

For this card I used mainly pink and blacks… sort of going for that dark princess thing. I used copics to color in the Lady Raven image from Kenny K (RV 29/25/23/10, E29/25/34, C 9/7/5). The papers are from Adorn It. They have such gorgeous papers in this line! The sentiment is from Close to my Heart “Rock On” stamp set, as are the stars. The ribbon is Papertrey Ink.

I like to keep the inside of my cards pretty simple. I see others that add such great designs and sentiments to the inside, and I love the way it looks, but I’ve always left the inside rather bare. Maybe once I get a few dozen more cards under my belt, I’ll start experimenting with creative touches inside the card.

If you haven’t check out the Kenny K images, they’re so cute! Check them out: http://www.kennykdownloads.com/

Thanks for checking out my blog =)

7KCF Challenge!

7KCF has started a new challenge blog! I absolutely love the theme of their first challenge – pink and dots; two of my absolute favorite things!

I decided to use a magnolia image: Lady Tilda.

I used a lot of pink and lavender design paper for this card  (PTI and Basic Grey) along with some of my favorite ribbon – PTI’s polka dot silk ribbon. Whenever I use dots, I like to use buttons, too! I used some of PTI’s vintage buttons in blush and  lavender moon. Tilda is colored with copics using some of my favorite combos. E29/25/34 for the hair and R85/83/81 for the dress. The sentiment is computer generated.

The beginning…

After following others blogs for months, and wishing I could enter so many of those blog challenges, I finally decided to start my own!  I hope it will inspire me to keep creating throughout the school year. I am a teacher and often fall into “teacher mode” during the school year. I wake up, teach, come home, work on school stuff, sleep, and repeat. I am hoping that this hobby can help me relax, de-stress, and have a bit of fun!

For this first post I am going to post a card I completed for a challenge for Suzanne Dean’s Through the Craftroom Door. I technically did not go with one of the themes of Fall or Baby, but I used her awesome sketch for this just-for-fun card.

I need to figure out how to take better pictures of my projects. I know many people have mentioned using a phot tent. Any suggestions?

Please check back for more projects in the future. I hope to add videos soon as well =)
